Fall Staging Tips
Cooler weather chases you and nips at your heels as you scurry inside and slam the door. You lean against it and take a breath as you savor the warmth your home provides. Your eyes drift across your living area and over to where you know your kitchen lies. Suddenly, you realize it’s Fall and you haven’t decorated!
Let’s fix that with our four easy tips for staging or decorating during the Fall!
Less is More
This one is easy and that’s why it’s our first tip. Too many decorations can detract from the defining features of your home. Choose a few tasteful accents that will freshen up the space such as fall foliage or a bowl of seasonal fruit. If you’re really feeling ambitious, put your artwork on a seasonal rotation! Swap out more summery and bright artwork for more moody pieces that depict the autumn weather or vivid orange hues that season brings.
Let Light in
The days will grow shorter throughout the season which will limit your natural light. Let in as much natural light as possible and use lamps to provide additional lighting. Let’s kick that seasonal affective disorder to the curb where it belongs.
Emphasize Comfort
Add plush throw pillows to the couch to accentuate it. Highlight the fireplace by making it the focal point or using tasteful artwork to draw attention to it. Bust out the throw blankets. The name of the game is cozy, as in- we don’t want to leave the house ever because we are so cozy.
Seasonal Scents
Whether candles, diffusers, or even a pot of herbs Williams-Sonoma style are your thing, it is undeniable that a pleasant scent can enhance the ambiance within your home. Cinnamon, apple, pumpkin… there are tons of scents to choose from! Let it emphasize the comforts of fall in your house!
